An Invitation
Some visions arrive fully formed. Others grow slowly, like a seed pushing through the soil until one day it breaks the surface. Ours has been growing for more than twenty years. We are excited to share it with you, whether you are simply curious or you feel something stirring in your spirit as you read. We call it the Rock Worship Center.
Put simply, we want to create a place that makes room for the presence of God. We know that can sound a little Old Testament, like the tabernacle in the wilderness or the ark resting in Jerusalem. But we believe God's presence has never faded. It is as real and as available today as it has ever been. And as the world seems to be rushing toward its end, people need a place to meet with God more than ever.
Worship Without End: 24 Hours a Day, 365 Days a Year
At the heart of the vision is a worship center where worship never stops. It goes on 24 hours a day, seven days a week, all year round. At any hour of the day or night, anyone can walk through the doors and step into an atmosphere filled with the glory of God, a place where He feels welcome and at home.
We don't yet know exactly how this will work, and we're comfortable with that. It may be a rotation of live worship teams. It may be a mix of live and recorded worship. What we are sure of is the purpose. This place should be so full of God's presence that people leave refreshed in their spirit. We believe the Holy Spirit will move there and will touch every person who comes on purpose to seek the face of God.
The worship itself may be joined, from time to time, by short messages from the Word, focused times of prayer, healings, miracles and prophetic words. We are leaving the details open so the Lord can shape them. The center of it all will always be His presence.
A Place to Rest, Listen and Find Direction
Around this worship center, we see a place of retreat. People will be able to come for a single day, for five days, or for longer. They can come on their own or as a group.
People come to a retreat for different reasons. Some need solitude and quiet, a chance to step away from the noise and let the Holy Spirit speak. Others come with questions they want answered. Still others come for direction and coaching, so they know what their next steps are when they go home. We want to make room for all of them.
To make this possible, we picture simple places to stay, such as small cabins or little homes, where guests can spend the night or stay for a longer season of seeking God.
We also believe that when people gather in worship, God creates new things. A team might come to the center and, in the middle of worship, receive a new song, a new sound or a new expression of praise. When that happens, we want to be ready to capture it.
For that reason, the vision includes recording and production space. The goal is not a commercial studio. It is a practical space where whatever God births can be recorded and shared.
Equipping and Training
Training is an important part of the vision, and it goes hand in hand with our coaching and retreats. We plan to build a library of resources, and we want most of them to be free. We will also host:
- Workshops for worship teams, ministry teams and corporate teams.
- Intensives that dig deep into specific topics in a focused setting.
The worship center is the hub that holds all of this together. Worship, retreats, recording, coaching and training all come out of that one place of God's presence.
Beyond One Location: A Network Across the Nation
We know that not everyone can travel to one place. That's why we dream bigger than a single center. We see a network of Rock Worship Centers across the country in various cities and towns all over the USA. The future may even present opportunities to have centers outside the borders of the USA. Each one would be closer to people's homes, open 24/7 and devoted to the same purpose: doing whatever we believe the Lord wants to accomplish.
Rock Worship Nights: Taking It on the Road
The vision won't stay behind walls. Part of our ministry will be what we call Rock Worship Nights. We will travel as itinerant ministers (worship missionaries) and hold 24 hours of worship in different communities, creating space for God's presence to move. Everywhere we go, we hope to plant seeds of the vision and then watch how God grows them in the hearts of the people there.
Online, Wherever You Are
Travel and busy schedules shouldn't keep anyone from growing. Alongside the physical center, we will offer workshops, intensives and masterminds online. People can join a mastermind group and receive the same training they would get in person, wherever they live.
First Things First: Where We Are Today
A vision this big needs a strong foundation, and we are building that foundation now. Our approach comes from Proverbs 24:27:
"Put first things first. Prepare your work outside and get it ready for yourself in the field, and afterward build your house and establish a home."
We see this season as preparation for the end-time harvest. Before we build a house, we are getting the field ready. Here is what that looks like right now.
The Online Community
We are building an online community. It is our first step, and it will continue after the physical center opens. When you join, you'll receive:
- A weekly one-hour Zoom call with access to coaching, masterminds and mentorship.
- A monthly email newsletter (at least once a month) to encourage you, offer a short teaching and keep you updated on what's happening in the ministry.
- A private Facebook group for ongoing questions and answers. It is open only to community members, not the public. You can ask any question there and get an honest answer, with no judgment and no criticism. It's a place to be real as we build the Kingdom of God together.
Worship Nights at Home
We have started hosting worship nights in our own home, where anyone wanting to spend time in God's presence is welcome.
Weekly Bible Studies
We have also started weekly Bible studies, beginning with a men's group. These gatherings are part of preparing for the bigger vision.
An Honest Word and an Open Door
We'll be honest: this vision is scary. It is far bigger than we are, and we know we can't do it alone. But we are confident that God will bring us together with people who catch the heart of this vision and want to build it with us for His glory.
That may be you. You might be a worshiper, an intercessor, a teacher, a builder, a creative, a coach or someone who simply loves God's presence. If something in these pages has stirred you, we would love to connect. Joining the online community is a great first step. Coming to a worship night or simply praying with us for this vision are wonderful ways to start as well.
In the end, the glory and honor belong to God. This vision isn't ours. It belongs to the Lord.
Why "Rock"? The Story Behind the Name
People often ask about the name, and the story means a great deal to us.
The vision was first born around the year 2001. At that time, the plan was to run it from our local church and ministry. The property we chose as the right spot was called Rockcliffe. The implementation of the vision was curtailed and the plan didn't happen the way we first imagined.
Twenty-six years later, we looked again at a property, this time in Ohio on Rock Road. With no better name at hand, we began calling it the Rock Worship Center, and the name stuck.
When we look back, we don't see coincidence. We see God's guidance. What seemed to end with Rockcliffe was really the start of something new, and the Rock Worship Center was born.
That is the story of our vision so far. We would love for you to help write the next chapter.
To God be the glory.
